Cricket is one of the most favorite sports which is played from street to street all over the world. At present, the World Cup of Cricket is being played in Australia.

What Is Cricket Essay

It is an outdoor game that is played on the field. Bat, ball, and stump are the main ingredients in cricket without which cricket cannot be played.

Cricket is played between two teams. Each team consists of 11 members/players. Apart from this, there is a 12th member who replaces that member if one member of the team goes out due to injury or any other reason. But this 12th member can only become a fielding/field guard, it cannot be replaced by a batsman, bowler, or wicket-keeper.

2 umpires are present on the field to make many types of decisions in cricket, apart from this there is a 3rd umpire who watches the game through the TV screen and in special circumstances the decision of the 3rd umpire. The final decision is considered.

Cricket is played in two innings, in each innings one team bats, and the other team bowls and protects the field.

The main objective of the team batting in the first innings is to score runs or scores.

The main objective of the bowling team is to get the batsman out and prevent runs/scores.

In the second innings, the batting team has a target of runs/score which the team in the first innings has to achieve.

Which team will bat or bowl first is decided by the captain of the team winning the toss.

There are three types of cricket at the international/national level.

Test Cricket

One Day Cricket

Twenty 20 Cricket (Twenty 20/ T2o Cricket)

There is a difference of some rules in these which are especially between the days played or how many balls ie overs.

One day cricket has been targeted in this blog.

Main Rules of Cricket:

A game of 50 overs is played in one day cricket, there are 6 balls in each over, in this way 300 balls are played.

In the first innings, the batting team plays these 50 overs and gives a target of runs to the front team.

If 10 players of the team are dismissed before 50 overs, then the runs scored till that time are considered as the target and the next innings is played.

In the second innings, there is a target of runs in front of 10 members of the team, so that one run has to be completed in 50 overs. It depends on the performance of the team that is how many balls or overs they can achieve the target.

The main objective of the bowling team in both innings is to get the batsman out and to score as few runs as possible in the second innings, either to get the batsmen out or to control the pace of the runs to prevent them from hitting the given target.

Run or Score (Cricket Run/ Scores Rule)

There are three types of runs scored by a batsman in cricket.

Running between the wickets:

Pitches are made on the field which is 2012 cm long and 305 cm wide. There are stumps on both sides of the pitch and one batsman is standing on either side. They run towards the stumps. At this time, the bowling team tries to catch the ball before the batsman reaches the stumps by hitting the stump with the ball or catching the ball as soon as possible to allow the batsman to score minimum runs.

Four:

When the batsman hits the ball and the ball goes beyond the prescribed limit while running on the field, then it is called a four, that is, four runs.

six :

When the batsman hits the ball and it crosses the boundary without hitting the air, then it is called a six or 6.

Extra Runs:

Apart from this, due to the wrong ball of the bowler, the team in front is given one run for each wrong ball.

Wrong Ball Types

No Ball:

Bowler bowling the ball against the rule i.e. 1. Wrong use of arms 2. The height of the ball is many times higher than the batsman 3. Fielder being in wrong position 4 Bowler's foot outside the return crease, it is called No Ball For which an extra run is given to the front team and no out is valid except for a run out on that ball. Also a free hit i.e. an extra ball is fed to the batsman on which he cannot be dismissed except by running out.

Wide Ball:

When the ball is too far away from the batsman, which he cannot play in any condition, it is considered the fault of the bowler, and extra runs are given to the batsmen team.

By :

When the ball does not touch the bat and the wicket-keeper also leaves it, then the batsmen get time to run, it is called by ball.

Leg Bye:

When the ball hits the batsman without hitting the bat and goes away, even at that time the batsman gets a chance to run, it is called leg bye.

Types Of Out

Bold:

When the bowler hits the ball on the stump and the bat falls, it is called a bowled if the bat does not move or falls on the collision, then it is not out.

Catch:

If the batsman hits the ball in the air and the fielder catches it without taking a note, it is called catch out.

Leg Before Wicket LBW:

It happens many times when the ball hits the batsman's leg, but when it seems that the ball did not hit the leg, it could have hit the wicket, then LBW is given out.

Run Out:

When the batsmen run between the wickets for runs, then if the ball is caught by any fielder and hits the wicket before the batsman reaches the wicket, it is considered run out.

Hit Wicket:

When the wicket falls due to the fault of the batsman, it is called a hit wicket.

Hitting Ball Two Times By Batsman:

The batsman is allowed to play the ball only once, if he touches it again for fear of being dismissed, then he is given out.

Stumped out:

When the batsman does not touch the ball and runs for runs, then the wicket-keeper can get him out with the ball. If touched, it is called stumped out.

Catch Ball By Bates Man:

If the batsman catches the ball with his hand or touches it with his hand to avoid getting out, then he is considered out.

Time Out:

After the batsman is dismissed, if the other batsman does not reach to play within 3 minutes, then he is considered out. This is called time out.

Interrupt :

When the batsman abuses the other team or when the people deliberately come in front of them while holding the ball, then he is dismissed.

T20 is a new form of cricket that was started in England in 2003. The reason behind introducing this type of game was to make cricket more exciting first and more spectators participate in it. Although the methodology of this game is almost the same as that of other cricket disciplines, yet specific changes have been made in this game.

 (T20 Cricket General rule)

Out of the total 20 overs, each bowler will bowl a maximum of 4 overs in five bowlers.

Anytime the bowler crosses the pumping crease, it will be a no-ball. The batting team will get 1 run instead and the ball will also not be valid. The ball after this will be a free hit on which the batsman will not be out except for a runout.

If the Empire feels that a team is wasting time unnecessarily, then according to its intelligence, it will deduct 5 runs as a penalty to that team.

In normal Twenty20 cricket, the interval is 20 minutes. If for some reason the overs of the match is reduced, then the time of the interval becomes 10 minutes.

If both the teams play a five-over match then the match will not be canceled.

In Twenty20 cricket, one short pitch ball is allowed in each over.

To calculate the run rate of the team, against the runs scored in each over, the runs scored by the other team are reduced.

Format

The format of Twenty20 cricket is similar to that of ODIs, only the difference of overs is, as the name suggests. This game is between two teams and each team plays a match of 20 overs. Since it is a quick game, the players do not use the dressing room. They sit in the canopy on the side of the field.

Fielding

No more than 5 fielders can be kept in the leg-side for the given period.

In Twenty20 cricket, only two players will be outside 30 yards for the first 6 overs. All other fielders will remain inside the circle.

The fielding team will have to complete the entire 20 overs within 80 minutes. Otherwise, the batting team may have to score extra runs. If the batting team also wastes time, then the Empire can take the same decision against them.

The decision to draw

In Twenty20 cricket, the game never ends on a par unless there is a natural reason. In the form of super over, both the teams have to play one over each. You can also take it as a mini-match. If a team loses two wickets in this over, then that team will lose, or else it does not happen then the team which scores the most runs will win. If there is a tie in this also, then whichever team has hit the most sixers will get the victory, even if there is a tie, then the team will win based on fours.
