(Football game history)

Many people have different opinions about where the word 'football' originated. It is believed that since the ball has to be hit with the foot during this game, it got the name football. However, the actual source of the origin of this name is not known. According to FIFA, football is an evolved form of the Chinese sport Suju. The game was developed in China during the Huan Dynasty. This game was being played under the name of Camari during the rule of the Japanese Asuka dynasty. This game has been developed for a long time. Later in 1586 AD, it was played in Green Land by the workers of a captain of a ship named John Davis. The journey of football's development was presented in the form of a book by Robert Brose Smith in 1878.

Football in the 15th century

In the fifteenth century, a game called football was played in Scott Land. In 1424 AD, it was banned there under the Football Act. Although this ban was soon removed, by then the interest of the game was lost among the people and after a long time, its rebirth is seen in the nineteenth century. However, during this time football was being played at many other places.

In 1409 AD, Prince Henry IV of Britain used the word 'football' in English for the first time. Along with this, it has a detailed history in Latin as well. Overall, it can be said that today a small-looking football has a very long history in itself.

Some interesting facts about the history of football

Glimpses of some of the main facts of this history are being given below.

In 1486, it was said that 'football' is more of a special kind of ball than it is a game. This statement is contained in the book of St. Albans.

In 1526, King Henry VIII of England ordered to make a pair of shoes for the first time to play football, wearing which football could be played easily.

In 1580, a poem by Sir Philip Sidney describes women playing a special kind of football.

In the late 16th and early 17th centuries, the concept of 'goal' appeared in the game for the first time to bring a sense of competition to the game. For this, the players made the goal post by planting bushes in two opposite heads in the field. At that time a match of eight or twelve goals was played.

From the Middle Ages, there was always the crisis of a ban on football.

For the first time in 1314, this law was passed in Britain. After this, it faced armed opposition in the eighteenth century.

In 1921, women were banned from playing in the English and Scottish Football Leagues. However, this ban was lifted again in 1970.

Those women who want to show their passion for football, they still have to face many difficulties.

Football in the 20th century

In the 20th century, the sport began to need an organization that could look after it regularly. Many such meetings were organized on behalf of the English Football Association, from where an international level organization was born. As a result, the seven big countries of Europe, France, Belgium, Denmark, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland, together with established the 'Federation International of Football Association' (FIFA) on 21 May 1904, whose first president was Robert Guerin.

During 90 minutes of play, there is a break at 45 minutes, which is called half time. This half time is of 15 minutes. After this, the time of 45 minutes goes on continuously. During this, if a player is injured, then the game is postponed for some time under 'Injury Time'. After that, the game starts again.

In the early days, football was made from animal bladders. Later on, animal skin was used on it, due to which its shape remained fixed. With the help of scientific technology developed in modern times, many better football companies have been established, which are making football keeping in view the match, age of players, field, etc. A soccer ball is a circular ball of circumference between 58 cm and 61 cm.

Football rules

Due to its development in many places from time to time, many rules were made for it. However, at the international level, it has been played everywhere according to time rules. Due to the popularity of the game, its rules were made in such a way that people from every country can enjoy this game. The rules are being explained below one by one

Players and Sports Equipment: There should be eleven players on each team of this game. Of these eleven players, one is a goalkeeper and the rest is an outfield player. This playground is usually 120 yards long and 75 yards wide. A 6-yard box is drawn in front of each goal. Both sides of the field should be decorated and handled in such a way that one half of the field looks like a mirror image of the other half. The equipment used in this game is mainly 'only a niche type of football'. However, apart from this, players wear football boots, padded gloves, shin pads, etc. to avoid getting injured.

Scoring: To score points in this game, the ball has to reach the goal post of the opposing team. This goal has to be scored within 90 minutes of the game. Within this time, the team scoring the most goals in both the teams wins. A goalpost has a height of 8 feet and a width of 8 yards.

Rules for winning the game: For any team to win, it has to score more goals than its opponents. Players pass the ball with their feet to their fellow players and reach the goal of the opposing team.

The grass in the field is grown either artificially or naturally. The field is marked in a quadrilateral form. Also, two six-yard boxes are made near the middle circle.

Each team can name up to seven additional players for a match. At any time during the game, those extra players can be replaced by the players already playing. The total number of players in the field is only 11 at any given time.

There is one referee and two assistant referees in each match. The referee administers timing, fouls, free kicks, penalties, etc. during the game. The referee usually consults with the assistant referee before making any decision. During the game, the assistant referee takes care of off-side, throw-in, etc.

If the game still requires more time after 90 minutes, an additional 30 minutes is added to it. This extra time is divided into two parts after 15 minutes.

If the game does not reach a decision even after extra time, then in such a situation a penalty shootout occurs. The entire ball must cross the goal line for the goal to be completed.

During a foul, the referee may throw a player off the field by showing him a red or yellow card according to his mistake. A yellow card is a warning, and a red card takes the player off the field.

Football offside rule

If an offensive player stands in front of the last defender and passes are played by other players, an offside call may occur. Usually offside is designed like this. That no player can stay with his opponent for a long time for a call. If the offensive player thus tries to stop the last defender standing in front of the player, an offside call occurs and the defending player gets a free-kick. The goalkeeper cannot be caught as the last defender. An offside call is not made if the attacker stands in front of the defender and the ball is played backward.
