Biography of Charlie Chaplin Early life : Charlie Chaplin was born on 16 April 1889 in London. Mother Hannah Chaplin and father Charles Spencer Chaplin sang and performed at the Senior Music Hall. Charlie had a very difficult childhood except for the first three years. Once when the mother was singing a song, her voice stopped, she could not sing on the stage. The spectators sitting outside started shouting loudly, so the manager killed almost five-year-old Charlie on stage. Thus for the first time, Charlie was exposed to the audience.
