Pre-diabetes can be caused by many factors such as poor lifestyle. If someone has the problem of pre-diabetes, they should immediately make necessary changes in their lifestyle. Moreover, family history i.e. if someone in the family already has diabetes, it is more likely to develop it. Obesity also increases the risk of pre-diabetes. In this case, special attention should be paid to food.
Pre-diabetes risk for other diseases
Pre-diabetes increases the risk of heart attack or stroke. It increases blood sugar levels and also increases blood pressure and cholesterol. Apart from the heart, it can cause serious damage to the kidneys and blood vessels.
How to detect pre-diabetes?
As pre-diabetes can prove to be very dangerous, a person should get their blood tested as soon as they know the symptoms. If you are over 30 years old and there is a family history of diabetes, you should get tested for diabetes.
Who is more at risk of pre-diabetes?
People who are overweight have a higher risk of developing pre-diabetes. It can also happen if you have PCOD problem.
