Not everyone can lose weight with the same method
Obesity has become the biggest health problem due to the current diet and luxurious lifestyle. Obesity is also considered a disease. Due to this, most people are adopting many methods to reduce body weight. However, if the weight does not decrease, it becomes a headache.
There are methods such as keto diet, water fasting, intermittent fasting to lose weight. These methods may not be suitable for everyone. Because the reason for everyone's weight gain is not the same. Experts say that if you adopt many methods to reduce obesity without finding out the reason, you may not get the balance and other health problems may appear.
Fitness trainer Biplav Karki says that if you blindly adopt weight loss methods due to increasing popularity, you will not get the body you want. 'Everyone's diet and lifestyle are different. Therefore, the same method does not apply to everyone. What method is effective for reducing obesity varies from person to person,' he says.
Without knowing the reason behind the increase in obesity and not following the method accordingly, obesity may not lose weight as desired. Even if you adopt many popular methods to lose weight, it will increase rapidly after the loss and it will increase suddenly when you do not eat. Karki says that such methods are only a temporary solution.
Meanwhile, dietician Raju Adhikari says that there are a large number of people who want to lose weight but lack patience, but who are willing to take short-term measures. He says that losing weight will not be possible today and tomorrow and it will take a long time.
‘It is important to pay attention to lifestyle and diet to lose weight. This is the most suitable formula. But there has to be moderation,’ he says, ‘Many people are skipping meals in the pursuit of losing weight. Skipping meals does not reduce obesity. Rather, it can lead to weakness and lack of nutrition in the body.’
Adhikari says that not all people who appear overweight are at risk of disease. ‘Even if some people’s bodies are a little fat, they are equally refreshed. If you are involved in diet and physical activity, you may not be at risk of getting sick,' the official says, 'Even if you do not have a health problem, you may be at risk of developing problems over time, so it is advisable to get a basic health checkup once a year.'
Main causes of obesity
According to Harvard University, obesity is increasing because today's children are more interested in unhealthy foods than healthy foods and more in leisure activities than physical activity with modernization.
Fitness trainer Karki says that the first priority and the best thing for everyone is to find out the small causes of obesity. According to him, the reason for obesity is not wanting to do even a little exercise. 'Laziness, waking up late, sleeping in, taking the elevator instead of the stairs, using bikes and scooters even for short distances, being interested in food outside the home, and inculcating the habit of eating and drinking excessively from a young age to look fit are all small but neglected things that cause obesity,' he says.
Why is weight control important?
According to a journal published by Harvard based on various studies and research, controlling weight gain means preventing disease from entering the body. Because if the weight is more than necessary, there may be a risk of many diseases such as metabolic syndrome, diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, heart disease, lack of strength, gallbladder disease, liver disease and cancer.
To minimize this, not only children but also parents should exercise, reduce stress, not spend too much time in front of screens such as mobile phones and TV, and get proper sleep, the university has stated.
Balanced diet and physical activity
If you pay attention to your diet along with physical activity, weight will be controlled. Karki says that if you can eat a balanced diet, you will not gain weight and your body will also stay healthy.
According to Karki, eating a small amount of rice, eggs, lentils, seasonal vegetables, fruits for snacks, and dried fruits like almonds, drinking four to five liters of water a day, getting enough sleep, exercising at home in the morning, and giving priority to walking if possible, can help control unnecessary weight.
Karki recommends that people with chronic diseases exercise on the advice of a doctor and eat accordingly. Adhikari says that even just taking a brisk walk for about half an hour in the morning can make a big difference in the body. ‘Morning walks effectively increase blood circulation in the body. The body stays active and the heart stays healthy. Not only that, walking regularly reduces body fat and automatically reduces weight,’ he says.
